The Sanctuary of St. Camillus is located in Bucchianico in the square where the young boy
Camillus de Lellis used to play. It is a spiritual and cultural centre for those who want to
rediscover the value of charity towards their sisters and brothers who suffer. It was built in the
beginning of the seventeenth century. It was planned by the Saint himself.
Recently it has been
brought back to its antique splendour by an accurate restoration and it has been enriched by
several relics of the Saint which can be venerated. It is officiated by the religious order of the
Ministers of the Sick (called Camillians) who are always available for confession and to present to
the pilgrims the figure of St. Camillus as well as the Sanctuary, the Home where he was born and
where he spent his childhood. There is a comfortable conference room for those who desire to
study or have spiritual conferences. For those who want to spend a longer period of time in
Bucchianico, a Spiritual Centre, run by the Camillians, is also available, where the atmosphere of
hospitality and the tranquillity of the place foster a peaceful encounter with the Lord and oneself.
